I recorded this episode Tuesday night, right after the FDA approval for the use of the Pfizer COVID mRNA vaccine for kids aged 5-11 years old. For some parents, this decision has been a long time coming. Many parents have been hoping for the chance to protect their kids with the use of a vaccine. Others are more hesitant on the decision, wondering if it is the right thing to do.
In today's episode I discuss my thoughts on the use of the vaccine at this age, the data used to make the decision, and why making these decisions as a parent can be difficult. Our boys are 5 and 8 years old, so this vaccine authorization hits home for me more than the other ones have.
If you want to read more about the data used in the vaccine trial, you can find it on the FDA website here.
